Biography

Ian Derrick joined the Bank of England in 2000 as Deputy Agent at the Agency for Wales, and returned to the role from a year's secondment to the economic analysis area of the Office of National Statistics in Newport in June 2015. Born and schooled in Llanelli, Ian graduated from Cardiff University in Economics in 1989, joining The Royal Bank of Scotland, working primarily in corporate banking and project finance roles in the City of London in the 1990s.

A Welsh speaker, Ian lives in Cardiff with his wife and daughters. His hobbies include running and most sports.

Ymunodd Ian Derrick â’r Bank of England yn 2000 fel Dirprwy Asiant yn yr Asiantaeth i Gymru, a dychwelodd i’r rôl ar ôl secondiad am flwyddyn i faes dadansoddi economaidd Y Swyddfa Ystadegau Gwladol yng Nghasnewydd ym mis Mehefin 2015. Wedi’i eni a’i addysgu yn Llanelli, graddiodd Ian o Brifysgol Caerdydd mewn Economeg ym 1989, gan ymuno â’r Royal Bank of Scotland, yn gweithio’n bennaf mewn bancio corfforaethol a rolau cyllid prosiect yn Ninas Llundain yn y 1990au.

Yn Gymro Cymraeg, mae Ian yn byw yng Nghaerdydd gyda’i wraig a’i ferched. Mae ei hobïau’n cynnwys rhedeg a’r mwyafrif o chwaraeon.
