Committee of Treasury minutes, 3 May 1798, state that the £3 per cent Consols office was to shut from 25 May to 10 August 1798. 'The increased time of shutting allowed to the £3 per cent Consols is to enable that office to carry the several accounts (which are more numberous than they were) in to new ledgers'. |
