It is available in three formats:

  1. Microsoft Word
  2. Rich text format for those people who do not use Word
  3. PDF readable with the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader

Versions 1 and 2 may be downloaded * and completed on your PC; they can then be sent by e-mail. Version 3 will need to be printed off and completed by hand; it will then need to be posted.

* - These files are password protected to prevent changes to the layout. When opening them choose the read-only option. When you have completed them save them with a new name and they can then be sent as an attachment to the e-mail.

Notes for guidance

Research work proposed

In answering the question on the research work proposed, the applicant should have regard to the check list below. The list need not be completely adhered to, but may help in completing the answer to this question. Starred items may be viewed as of particular importance.

  1. What are the objectives of the research?
  2. How does it relate to other research in the same field that either has been completed or is going on now?
  3. Are the results expected to have any general or practical applications?
  4. How will the research be done? What techniques will be used? What were the reasons which led to the adoption of these methods and techniques?
  5. If the research involves gaining access to the facilities or data of institutions or organisations, what assurance can be provided that access will be obtainable?
  6. How will the research be organised and phased over the duration of the Fellowship?
  7. * How will the results of the research be disseminated?
  8. *How do you expect to benefit from contact with members of the Bank staff, and with the Bank's research activities?
