Social media community guidelines

We outline a set of rules and principles designed to create a safe, respectful, and engaging online environment for all users on our social media pages.

Our teams manage several social media accounts on a variety of platforms.

We encourage our followers to engage with our content, share feedback and express their views. We do however expect users to follow our guidelines to ensure the community remains inclusive and welcoming for everyone.

Guidelines

We will hide or delete content that is deemed:

  • Abusive or obscene
  • Graphic, sensitive or offensive imagery
  • Deceptive or misleading
  • In violation of any intellectual property rights
  • In violation of any law or regulation
  • Spam (persistent negative and/or abusive posting in which the aim is to provoke a response)

All users must comply with the social media platforms' Terms of Use as well as these guidelines.

You are wholly responsible for any content you post including content that you choose to share.

We will report any social media profiles that will be perceived as impersonating the Bank of England by using our logo, imagery, or content, without permission.

By participating in our social media channels, you are agreeing to adhere to these guidelines.
