17 May
On 17 May 2000, the Bank announced a new version of the £10 which would feature a portrait of Charles Darwin. They were introduced into circulation on 7 November 2000.

Bank of England Museum
From April to October in 2000, the Bank of England Museum's "Amusing, Shocking, Informing" exhibition featured cartoons and caricatures from the 18th century to present day. You can find many of the images from the exhibition in the booklet.
