The Bank announced that world-renowned 18th century philosopher and economist, Adam Smith would feature on a new design £20 note to be introduced in Spring 2007.


Bank of England Museum

Following a four-month closure for redecoration, the Museum opened a special exhibition in May, Pounds Pence & Money Boxes, which explored the history and concept of money.
