Banknotes and coins

Master drawing of Worcester Cathedral and St Cecilia for £20, 1999.
The Bank of England’s Banknote collection includes not only the Bank’s own notes, but also original artwork by banknote designers, and a unique collection of forgeries.

The Coin collection mainly consists of British coinage since 1694 (the year the Bank of England was founded), including the Bank’s dollars and tokens which were issued in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
