At some point between 1833 and 1855 this collection was started as a visual record of the Bank's history. The prints, drawings and paintings (both oil and watercolour) contained within it encompass the following subjects: the Bank's buildings, both interior and exterior views; views of London; portraits of Governors, Directors and staff, and cartoons and caricatures of people and events connected with the history of the Bank.
