Professional actors portraying an ARP warden, members of the
Home Guard and a 1940s housewife, their stories reflecting the
content of the wider exhibition of photographs, staff letters
and diaries and other memorabilia on display.
Children and grown-ups alike were able to get a sense of that
can-do’ spirit which overcame the mayhem of the Blitz,
and the heartfelt ‘business as usual’ approach adopted
by so many in the face of the War’s relentless adversity
and disruption.
