The Fiver; a Brief History of the Bank of England £5 Note

1957 £5 Note

The £5 denomination Bank of England note was first produced in 1793 and it has remained in issue uninteruptedly since then. The exhibition briefly explored the development of the design and production of this note over two centuries culminating in the technologically advanced Elizabeth Fry fiver issued in 2002.
