Admission
Is there an admission charge to the Museum?
Admission is free for everyone and includes a free Museum Guide.
Is there a charge for visiting the Museum's special exhibitions and events?
Admission to temporary exhibitions, events and activities is free, although there is usually a small charge for exhibition brochures.

How do I get to the Museum by train, underground or bus?

How do I get to the Museum from Bank underground station?
Follow the signs in the station for the Bank of England (exit 2). Walk along Threadneedle Street with the front of the Bank on your left. Take the first turning on the left, which is Bartholomew Lane. The entrance to the Museum is short way down Bartholomew Lane on the left. See How to Find Us for a map.
Parking
Does the Museum have a car or coach park?

Can coaches and cars set down and pick up outside the Museum?
Vehicles can stop briefly in Bartholomew Lane to set down and pick up. See How to Find Us.
Refreshments
Does the Museum have a café or restaurant?
There are no refreshments available in the Museum but there is a choice of places to eat within easy walking distance.
Is there an area in the Museum where I can eat a picnic or packed lunch?
There are no designated eating areas and we ask visitors not to eat or drink in the Museum.

Is the free Museum Guide available in languages other
than English?
The printed guide is available in Chinese, French, German,
Italian, Japanese, Russian, Spanish and Welsh.

Visiting as a group
Do I need to book if I am arranging a group visit?
You only need to book in advance if you would like a talk or a presentation. See Talks.
Tours
Is it possible to have a guided tour of the Museum?
Small groups can arrange to have a short introduction to the Museum. See Talks.
Is it possible to have a guided tour of the Bank of England ?
No, however, special tours of the Bank are offered to
members of the public when the Museum opens for the Open
Door and Open House events. See Events.
Talks and presentations
What presentations do you offer for adult visitors?
Groups can choose between a talk in the Museum (small
groups only) or a presentation in the cinema (groups of
between 15 and 45 people). See Talks.
What presentations do you offer for schools?
The film and question and answer session in the cinema is suitable for anyone interested in learning about the role of Bank of the Bank of England, in particular students of economics and business studies aged 16 -18. For younger pupils there are interactive money presentations in the cinema aimed at 5 -10 year olds and 11-14 year olds. See Talks.
