Bank Today
A key area of the Museum where visitors can find out more
about the Bank of England today and the current series
of banknotes.
An interactive video tour explains what the Bank does
to promote and maintain monetary and financial stability
as its contribution to a healthy economy. Other topics
covered are banknotes, gold and Europe. Visitors can chose
what level of detail they want – a quick overview,
a more detailed explanation or information linked to economic
theory, which will appeal to students of economics and
business in particular. Visitors can also have some fun
dealing on a computer simulation of the US dollar / sterling
foreign exchange market and using a dealing desk similar
to those in use in the Bank.
