Workshop - The Economics of Payments,
26 - 27 June 2006
The Bank of England hosted a workshop on ''The Economics of Payments" on 26 & 27 June 2006 (for full details, please see the agenda). The aim of the workshop was to get the views of selected academics and central bank colleagues on a range of the Bank's research outputs and feedback on the Bank's wider research agenda for payments. In addition the panel session was intended to provide a forum for discussion of a specific question posed to us by the top of the Bank, which payment systems should a monetary authority have an interest in and why? The background paper for the workshop describes in more detail how the workshop was structured, what papers were presented and what the Bank hoped to achieve from the workshop.
