Responses to CP8/13 (No. 2) - PS1/14

Background 

In October 2013 the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) consulted in the Occasional Consultation Paper (CP8/13) on miscellaneous and minor changes to the PRA rules, including further rule amendments related to CRD IV, and material on the PRA’s proposals to create a Rulebook. Responses to CP8/13 sets out the PRA responses to chapters 1, 2, 4 and 5 of CP8/13. Responses to CP8/13 (No 2) sets out the PRA responses to chapters 3 & 6 of CP8/13.

Background

Occasional Consultation Paper - CP8/13

This Occasional Consultation Paper (OCP) proposes miscellaneous and minor changes to the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) rules, including further rule amendments related to CRD IV, and material on the PRA’s proposals to create a Rulebook. 

The OCP chapters are:

  1. Close Links and Controllers report
  2. Mortgage lenders and administrators return
  3. Removal of the designated investment exchange regime
  4. Interim Prudential sourcebook for Insurers and the Interim Prudential sourcebook for Friendly Societies
  5. FSCS protection for large unincorporated associations’ deposits
  6. Related party transaction
  7. CRD IV consequential and minor amendments
  8. Remuneration
  9. Initial capital exemption for small credit institutions
  10. The online Rulebook

This OCP is relevant to banks, building societies, PRA-designated investment firms and PRA-regulated firms in some respect; the particular relevance of each chapter is detailed in the overview of each section. Where relevant, related draft rules are attached in the appendices.

This consultation closed on the 1 November 2013.

The PRA intends to publish policy statements with feedback on the OCP and CP5/13, finalised rules and final supervisory statements in December 2013.
