The Bank of England publishes regularly updated lists of authorized institutions (banks and building societies, insurance companies and designated investment firms) as well as banking and insurance brands covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. The Bank of England also provides regulatory data to international bodies for the use in several publications listed below. The Bank of England took on responsibility for the provision of these data on April 1, 2013 and cannot guarantee the quality of these data before that date.
In addition, the PRA is required, as a competent authority, to publish information on rules and guidance, options and discretions, supervisory review and evaluation process (SREP), and aggregate statistical data, alongside submitting the information to the European Banking Authority (EBA) in line with Article 143 of Directive 2013/36/EU (CRD IV) and Commission Implementing Regulation 650/2014. The information published is as of 31 December 2014. The purpose of publishing such information is to enable a comparison of the approaches adopted by the competent authorities of the different Member States; consolidated data can be found on the EBA's website.
