Credit Conditions Review, Bank Liabilities Survey and Credit Conditions Survey

We publish our Credit Conditions Survey and Bank Liabilities Survey four times a year.

Our Credit Conditions Review is now published twice a year, on the same date as the two surveys.

Credit Conditions Review

This publication presents our assessment of the latest developments in bank funding and household and corporate credit conditions. It draws on sources including the results of the Bank Liabilities Survey and Credit Conditions Survey, other statistics we have collected and surveys from other organisations. These data are supplemented by discussions between our staff and the major UK lenders. The review also draws on intelligence gathered by our network of Agents and from market contacts.

Bank Liabilities Survey

This quarterly survey of banks and building societies is aimed at improving our understanding of the role of lenders’ liabilities and capital in driving credit and monetary conditions.

The survey asks lenders about the past three months and the coming three months. It covers:
  • developments in the volume and price of bank funding
  • developments in the loss-absorbing capacity of banks as determined by their capital positions
  • developments in the internal price charged to business units within banks to fund the flow of new loans, sometimes referred to as the ‘transfer price’.
