(1) Does the Governor ‘take a salary and a bonus and what are these’?
 
Details of the Governor’s salary are published in the Bank’s Annual Report in the section ‘Remuneration of Governors, Directors and MPC Members’ which can be found on our website at

The Governor does not receive a bonus.
 
(2) Does the Governor ‘have Grace and Favour homes either in the BoE or elsewhere?’
 
No.
 
(3) Has the Governor ‘taken a pay-cut and loss of earnings and perks as Public Sector and other groups have been asked to do?’
 
As explained in the 2010 Annual Report, the Governor declined a recommended pay increase on his re appointment in 2008 for a second term. He advised the Bank’s Remuneration Committee that he does not wish to receive any increase in 2010 or 2011.
