Information relating to hospitality/accommodation

Subject/Request Details: Information relating to hospitality/accommodation.

Date Released: 3 April 2009

Disclosure:

1.The total spend on hospitality (within the Bank) for the most recently available financial year.

The total in 2008 was £396,469. This includes the cost of all meals, drinks, coffee, tea etc provided in the Bank by our caterers where there were official visitors or any outside guests present.

2. The total spend on hospitality by the Governor (given outside the Bank) for the most recently available year.

The total in 2008 was £117.50.

3. The total spend on providing accommodation for staff members for the most recently available financial year.

We do not provide accommodation for staff except when they are travelling on business for the Bank when we pay for hotels. We assume that's not the sort of accommodation you meant. (If it was then as a practical matter we could not extract the figures from general travel without undue cost).
