UK Government ECU Treasury Notes

The Bank of England announces the tender of ECU 500 million nominal of UK Government ECU Treasury Notes for maturity on 28 January 2000.

The tender which will be on a bid-yield basis, will take place on Tuesday, 15 July 1997.

The notes will be fungible with the ECU 500 million of Notes sold by tender on 21 January 1997 and the ECU 500 million of Notes sold by tender on 15 April 1997.

The Bank of England will add ECU 50 million to the Exchange Equalisation Account's holdings of Notes which may be made available for sale and repurchase operations with market makers, bringing the total available for this purpose to ECU 150 million.
