Notes for Editors

The programme of issues by tender of UK Government ECU Treasury Bills has now been running for just over nine years. Tenders are held monthly; the first took place in October 1988. The size and maturity of issues are normally announced a week before tenders are held.

UK Government ECU Treasury Bills are similar in form to sterling Treasury Bills, but denominated and payable in ECU both on subscription and at maturity. The arrangements for the programme are described in an Information Memorandum issued on 28 March 1989 and subsequent supplements.
