Financial Sanctions

Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY)

Following the publication of EC Regulation No.826/2000 in the Official Journal of the European Communities on
26 April (ref L101), Annex 1 to Council Regulation 1294/99 imposing a freeze of funds and a ban on investment in respect of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia has been amended.

The Annex lists the names of persons deemed to be acting, or purporting to act for, or on behalf of, the Governments of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia or Serbia.

Copies of the amended Regulation are available from the Sanctions Emergency Unit at the Bank of England or the Eur-Lex web site - http://europa.eu.int/eur-lex/en/oj/

Afghanistan

Financial sanctions have been introduced against the Taliban and a Bank of England Notice detailing the sanctions has been issued today. The Notice includes the names of targetted individuals and companies.
