Financial Sanctions: Iraq

From 14 December 2000 the financial sanctions against Iraq imposed by paragraph 4 of UN Security Council Resolution 661 (1990) will be implemented in the UK by means of an Order under the UN Act 1946.
Accordingly, the Bank of England, who have been appointed by HM Treasury to administer the financial sanctions on their behalf, are today publishing a revised guidance notice to the Iraq sanctions.

Note For Editors
The revised Notice replaces the Notice to Banks that was issued on the 7 August 1990.
