Terrorist Financing: List of Suspects
13 December 2002
The Bank of England, as agent for Her Majesty's Treasury, has today directed all financial institutions that any funds which they hold for or on behalf of the entity and individuals named below must be frozen. This is because the Treasury have reasonable grounds for suspecting that the entity and the individuals named are or may be:
(a) persons who commit, attempt to commit,
facilitate or participate in the commission of acts of terrorism,
(b)
persons controlled or owned directly or indirectly by a person in (a),
or
(c) persons acting on behalf, or at the direction of, a person in
(a).
Financial institutions are requested to check whether they maintain any accounts for the entity and individuals named below and, if so, they should freeze the accounts and report their findings to the Bank of England.

This Release gives additional and replacement details in respect of the individual who was added to the consolidated list available here on the Bank of England's website, further to the Bank's Notices of 14 August 2002 and 15 August 2002 containing directions under the Terrorism (United Nations Measures) Order 2001.
The entry should read:

Note to Editors
The Bank has previously issued Notices and news releases concerning Terrorism, Al-Qa'ida and the Taliban on 19 November, 24 October, 18 October, 11 October, 1 October, 12 September, 5 September, 14 August, 18 July, 19 April, 11 March, 9 January 2002, 28 December, 21 December and 6 December 2001. Earlier relevant Notices were issued on 3 May 2000, 23 February, 2 April, 10 & 12 October, 2 & 8 November 2001.
