Financial Sanctions:
Terrorist Financing

This news release is issued in respect of the financial measures taken against terrorism.
The Bank of England, as agent for Her Majesty's Treasury, has today issued a Notice to publicise generally a direction given by Her Majesty's Treasury that the individual named below is a "designated person" for the purposes of the Terrorism (United Nations Measures) Order 2006. This means that:
- any funds (meaning financial assets and benefits of every kind) or economic resources belonging to, owned or held by the individual must be frozen; and
- no funds, economic resources or financial services are to be made available, directly or indirectly, to the individual;
except under the authority of a licence.
Financial institutions and other persons are requested to check whether they maintain any accounts or otherwise hold any funds or economic resources for the individual named below and, if so, they should freeze the accounts or other funds and report their findings to the Bank of England.
