Financial Sanctions: Democratic Republic of The Congo

This news release is issued in respect of the financial measures taken against the Democratic Republic of The Congo.

The Bank of England, as agent for Her Majesty's Treasury, issues this news release to advise that on 6 February 2007 the United Nations Sanctions Committee established pursuant to Resolution 1533 (2004) amended the identifying details of four existing entries on the UN List maintained under Resolution 1596 (2005). The individuals whose identifying information has been amended continue, along with all other individuals and entities appearing on the UN List, to fall within the UK financial sanctions regime under The Democratic Republic of the Congo (United Nations Measures) Order 2005 (S.I. 2005/1517).

Financial institutions and other persons are required to check whether they maintain any accounts or otherwise hold any funds, other financial assets, economic benefits and economic resources for the individuals named below. If so, they should freeze the accounts or other funds and report their findings to the Bank of England.
