Date for Auction of Low-Numbered New £20 Notes

Bank of England Governor Mervyn King recently announced an auction of low-numbered £20 Adam Smith banknotes, the proceeds of which will go towards two educational charities, the National Literacy Trust’s Reading Is Fundamental, UK initiative and the Cricket Foundation’s Chance to shine.
The auction, which is being arranged and conducted by Spink, will take place from 6pm to 8pm, on Friday 12 October, in the Conference Centre of the Bank of England. Doors will open at 5.30pm.
