Financial Sanctions: Terrorist Financing

This news release is issued in respect of the financial measures taken against terrorism.
The Bank of England, as agent for Her Majesty’s Treasury, today publicises generally a direction given by Her Majesty’s Treasury, which revokes with immediate effect the previous direction given on 29 December 2006 in relation to Shazad Khuram Ali. The following individual is therefore no longer a “designated person” for the purposes of the Terrorism (United Nations Measures) Order 2006.

As a result, the individual has been removed from the consolidated list on the Bank of England’s website.
Shazad Khuram Ali was initially designated in a direction given by HM Treasury on 11 August 2006 under the Terrorism (United Nations Measures) Order 2001 (SI 2001/3365) – Bank Notice 11 August 2006. He was subsequently designated on 29 December 2006 under the Terrorism (United Nations Measures) Order 2006 (SI 2006/2657) – Bank Notice 2 January 2007.
