ESCB Public Consultations
As a member of the European System of Central Banks (ESCB), the Bank of England is party to some of the public consultations undertaken by the European Central Bank.
Public consultations can cover technical issues relating to monetary and financial regulations and policy issues, including those on payment, clearing and settlement systems. They aim to contribute to improving the information upon which the ECB's decision-making bodies base their decisions, by providing more information on the relevant facts and on the views of those affected by such decisions, consistent with the IMF's "Code of Good Practices on Transparency in Monetary and Financial Policies".
The Bank of England does not participate in public consultations that are for the Eurosystem only.
United Kingdom responses to ESCB public consultations should be sent to the European Central Bank (contact details are contained within consultation documents). The Bank of England would be pleased to be copied any responses. Unless contributors request otherwise, all contributions may be made public by the ECB.
There are currently no public consultations.
