Analysis of bank deposits from and lending to UK residents

Lending to other financial corporations (OFCs) increased by £62.9bn in Q1, mainly driven by lending to securities dealers (+£43.9bn). Lending to non-financial corporations (NFCs) rose by £7.2bn, driven by increases in lending to development, buying, selling and renting of real estate (+£7.1bn) and transport, storage and communication (+£2.1bn).
Deposits from OFCs rose by £39.4bn in Q1, largely accounted for by an increase of £34.5bn from financial intermediation. Deposits from NFCs rose by £10.9bn, mainly reflecting a rise of £7.1bn from legal, accountancy, business consultancy and other business activities
