Sectoral breakdown of aggregate M4 and M4 lending

M4 lending (excluding the effects of securitisations etc) to the household sector totalled £8.1 billion in June, the annual growth rate falling to 10.9%. The annual rate of growth of the household sector's holdings of M4 rose to 8.9%. M4 lending (excluding the effects of securitisations etc) to private non-financial corporations (PNFCs) totalled £6.5 billion in June, the strongest monthly outturn in the series. Annual growth rose to 14.5%, the strongest since October 2000. PNFCs increased their holdings of M4 by £0.4 billion. Holdings of M4 by other financial corporations (OFCs) and M4 lending (excluding the effects of securitisations etc) to OFCs both fell during June, with their respective annual growth rates falling as a consequence.

Funds raised by PNFCs from UK MFIs and the capital markets totalled £8.6 billion in June, the strongest outturn since June 2001. Further information on capital issues can be found in the Capital Issuance statistical release of 20 July.
