Sectoral breakdown of aggregate M4 and M4 lending

M4 lending (excluding the effects of securitisations etc) to the household sector rose by £8.1 billion in April. The annual growth rate fell 0.1pp to 9.7%. Annual growth in the household sector’s holdings of M4 increased by 0.1pp, to 8.2%. M4 lending (excluding the effects of securitisations etc) to private non-financial corporations (PNFCs) rose by £3.5 billion in April, with annual growth falling by 1.0pp to 16.7%. PNFCs' holdings of M4 rose by £1.4bn; annual growth increased 0.6pp to 12.0%. Holdings of M4 by other financial corporations (OFCs) increased by £8.5 billion and M4 lending (excluding the effects of securitisations etc) to OFCs rose by £19.8 billion in April.
