Sectoral breakdown of aggregate M4 and M4 lending

M4 lending (excluding the effects of securitisations etc) to the household sector rose by £8.4 billion in January. The annual growth rate fell to 9.8%. The annual rate of growth of the household sector's holdings of M4 remained at 8.0%. M4 lending (excluding the effects of securitisations etc) to private non-financial corporations (PNFCs) rose by £0.8 billion in January, whilst their holdings of M4 rose by £3.4 billion. Holdings of M4 by other financial corporations (OFCs) increased by £2.3 billion and M4 lending (excluding the effects of securitisations etc) to OFCs totalled £12.0 billion in January.

Funds raised by PNFCs from UK MFIs and the capital markets
totalled £3.6 billion in January, weaker than last months
recent high. Further information on capital issues can be found
