Sectoral breakdown of aggregate M4 and M4 lending

M4 lending (excluding the effects of securitisations etc) to the household sector rose by £7.8 billion in March. The annual growth rate fell 0.1pp to 9.8%. Annual growth in the household sector’s holdings of M4 also fell by 0.1pp, to 8.0%. M4 lending (excluding the effects of securitisations etc) to private non-financial corporations (PNFCs) rose by £10.4 billion in March, with annual growth rising by 1.5pp to 17.7%. PNFCs' holdings of M4 rose by £0.2bn; annual growth fell 1.6pp to 11.3%. Holdings of M4 by other financial corporations (OFCs) increased by £6.9 billion and M4 lending (excluding the effects of securitisations etc) to OFCs rose by £8.0 billion in March.
