Provisional estimates of broad money (M4)
and credit (M4 lending)
December 2006
Provisional figures for December indicate
that M4 rose by £13.6 billion, seasonally adjusted; below the average flow for the previous six months of £15.4 billion. The twelve-month growth rate fell to 12.8% from 13.1% in November.
M4 lending increased by £11.0 billion or 0.6%, seasonally adjusted, in December. The twelve-month growth rate fell to 13.4% from 14.4% in November.
M4 lending (excluding the effects of securitisations
etc.) increased by £14.2 billion or 0.7%, seasonally adjusted, in December. The twelve-month growth rate fell to 15.1% from 16.4% in November.
