Provisional estimates of broad money (M4) and credit (M4 lending)

Provisional figures for February indicate that M4 rose by £12.6 billion, seasonally adjusted; above the average rise for the previous six months of £12.1 billion. The twelve-month growth rate rose to 12.0% from 11.9% in January.

M4 lending increased by £18.8 billion or 1.1%, seasonally adjusted, in February. The twelve-month growth rate rose to 10.6% from 9.7% in January.

M4 lending (excluding the effects of securitisations) increased by £22.8 billion or 1.3%, seasonally adjusted, in February. The twelve-month growth rate rose to 12.5% from 12.0% in January.
