The Bank is currently running a consultation about the future of this release. The proposal is to cease publication of provisional monthly narrow money data, although the final data would still be published one week later, as at present, when the latest Scottish and Northern Irish note data became available. There would therefore be no actual loss of data for users. For more information see http://www.bankofengland.co.uk/statistics/ms/articles/art2mar07.pdf . Subscribers are asked to provide comments on this proposal via email to mfsd_ms@bankofengland.co.uk.
Provisional figures for April indicate
that, seasonally adjusted, notes
and coin in circulation were on average
0.2% higher than in March. The twelve-month growth rate fell to 3.7% from 4.1% in March.
