Provisional estimates of narrow money
(notes & coin) and reserve balances
December 2007
31 December 2007
Please note that, following a consultation with users, this is the last issue of this statistical release. The Final release of the data will continue to be published as it is at present (available at http://www.bankofengland.co.uk/statistics/fnc/current/index.htm). The Final data do not rely on projections for the Scottish and Northern Irish notes in circulation, and hence are less prone to revision. Data for Bank of England notes in circulation and reserve balances will still be published every Thursday on the Bank of England's Bank Return at http://www.bankofengland.co.uk/publications/bankreturn/index.htm .
For more information about the earlier consultation on the future of narrow money releases, please see http://www.bankofengland.co.uk/statistics/ms/articles/art2mar07.pdf and http://www.bankofengland.co.uk/statistics/ms/articles/artaug07.pdf.
