1. Form QX - clarification and reminder (effective immediately)
Section Five (“write-offs and other revaluations”) of Form QX should be completed on an annual basis with the December return, by all those reporters that currently submit sections 1-6 of the form. It should contain a full annual sector analysis of all write-offs of loans to UK residents that have been reported in Section Four of the Form during 2006. Therefore, if you have reported write-offs of loans to UK residents in Section Four (item XKQ) in any quarter of 2006, the total reported in Section Five (item XK) would be the sum of all write-offs of loans to UK residents reported during 2006 in item XKQ in Section Four.
Following some queries from reporters about the treatment of recoveries of loans when reporting write-offs, we have also taken this opportunity to clarify the definitions for sections four and five. Amended pages can be found below.
If you have any queries regarding Form QX, please contact Stephen Burgess (Tel. 020 7601 5356) or Freya Jupe (Tel. 020 7601 5008).

2. Reporting of business denominated in Slovenian tolar (effective 1 January 2007)
On 1 January 2007 Slovenia will adopt the euro as its official currency. From that date, reporting institutions should report all business denominated in Slovenian tolar in the euro boxes of all statistical returns. Business denominated in Slovenian tolar is currently reported in the “other currencies” boxes of these returns.
If banks have any difficulties complying with this for end-January 2007 reporting, please contact our Help Desk on 020 7601 5360.
