1. Northern Rock (clarification)
Notwithstanding the Government’s decision to nationalise Northern Rock and the recent ONS announcement regarding the classification of Northern Rock within public finances, reporters should note that for the reporting of statistical returns to the Bank of England, Northern Rock should continue to be classified as a UK Bank. Northern Rock’s UK-resident securitisation vehicles should continue to be classified as “financial corporations (including unlimited liability partnerships) other than monetary financial institutions”.
If you have any queries relating to classification please contact our Help Desk on 020 7601 5360.
2.Subscription facility (reminder)
Reporters are reminded that a subscription facility is available for Statistical Notices (amongst other subjects) on our website. You can subscribe to notices by selecting “subscribe to email alerts” from the top right hand corner of this page.
Should you choose to use this facility, please contact Jenna Bassett (Te. 020 7601 5500) who will remove you from the mailing list for paper copies of the notices.

4. Form BE/AD cross-form validations (effective end-June 2008 reporting)
An error has been discovered within the cross-form validations for Forms BE and AD. Validation numbers 7, 8 and 9 of the BE/AD cross-form validations have been updated so that the Form BE items should be greater than or equal to the Form AD items; they are currently equal to.
In addition, three new cross-form validations have been added to each form to improve validation checks for the non-financial corporations items between the forms.
These validations will be manually checked by Bank staff for the end-March 2008 data round, but reporters should have their systems updated in time for the end-June 2008 data round.
Software Houses have been informed of these changes and updated pages of the validations can be found at the link below.
If you have any queries relating to these validations please contact our Help Desk on 020 7601 5360.
