| Description | Lease by the Wardens and Commonalty of the Mystery of Grocery of the City of London to the Governor etc, of the Bank of England (in consideration of the sum of £500 paid down and the further sum of £5000 advanced and lent by the Bank to the said Wardens etc for the term of 11 years, and by the direction and for the proper Debts of the said Wardens etc paid unto Walwin, Gascoigne, Merchant and Sarah Foster, widow in the following proportions, viz. to Walwin Gascoigne £2740 and to Sarah Foster £2260 which mortgages are agreed to be assigned, in trust for the Bank for securing the repayment of the £5000 at the end of the said term, without interest, all of that their great messuage commonly called Grocers' Hall, with ground, buildings etc in the parish of St Mildred's, Poultry, to hold at a peppercorn rent.
