| Custodial History | By the time the Archive was established in the 1970s, many records had already been transferred to the Bank's Museum. Records in the Museum have since been brought under control of the Archive but, rather than attempt to classify each in respect of its origin, it was thought safer to reflect their most recent ownership and the provenance attributed by the Museum. Some items are listed here but still held in the Museum strongrooms. They can be requested from the Museum, provided they are not on display. |
