It is the summer of 1836. The Bank’s Directors have received a strange letter with a grave declaration: there is a drain in London which leads straight to the Bank’s gold vaults! But where is the location of the drain in question, and who is the person that has made this bizarre statement? Get to the bottom of the mystery by navigating your way round the museum and solving the clues as you go to claim your reward!

On Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11am, meet the Bank of England’s bullion team. The team are giving interactive talks about gold in our cinema for this event. Get your free tickets from our information desk when you arrive. There are 50 places available for each talk on a first-come, first-served basis. So get there early!

Entry to our museum is free. Our events and talks are free too.
