Famous historical customers of the Bank of England include the composer George Frederic Handel, the painter JMW Turner, novelist Charles Dickens and members of the Darwin-Wedgwood family, including the naturalist Charles Darwin.

In this display, we look at some of their financial records to explore what they can tell us about these individuals’ personal, artistic and family life.
