The big draw: drawing the future

This is a drop-in activity for our younger visitors (under 16) and their parents or guardians.

About the event

Monday 28 October to Friday 1 November (half-term week)
10am to 4:30pm

Draw the Bank of England of the future

Our building is more than 80 years old. It was designed and built to last! But what if we needed a new one? That’s where you come in.

At this drop-in event we invite you to draw your design of what our building could be like in the future.

What materials would you use to make the building strong and sturdy? What things would you have in place to keep the building, staff and gold safe?

Enter our competition

Enter our competition to win a prize and have your drawing shown on our social media channels.

Collect a ‘Drawing the Future’ worksheet from our museum information desk. Then let your imagination go wild!

The age categories are: under 5 years, 6 to 8 years, 9 to 11 years, and 12 to 15 years.

We want to make the competition as fair as possible. So entries must be completed on one of our worksheets and handed-in during your visit.

What you need to know

This family activity takes place during October half-term. Any visitors who are lucky enough to be under 16 years old need to bring an adult.

We don’t have a lot of space for storing buggies and pushchairs. So we may ask you to take them with you as you go round the museum.

Free entry. All activities are free. There is no need to book in advance.

Free admission

We are open Monday-Friday 10am to 5pm (excluding Bank Holidays), last entry at 4:30pm.
