Summer storytelling sessions for families

Visit our family friendly museum throughout the summer for a free and interactive storytelling session

About the events

Looking for a free, family-friendly activity this summer? Join our resident storyteller for an interactive storytelling session which combines history with drama and bring to life the history of the Bank and financial education. Please pick the story that is most age appropriate for your child.

Can’t make a storytelling session? The museum always offers free, age-appropriate activity sheets for visitors aged 4 to 18.

The Three Little Pigs (for 4 to 7 year olds)

When: 22, 23 and 24 August at 11am

Book tickets

Mummy Pig is fed up with the Three Little Pigs’ rooms being a pigsty, so she’s sending them out to buy their own houses.

The first Little Pig only has enough piggy pounds to buy straw to build his house.

The second Little Pig only has enough piggy pounds to buy sticks to build her house.

But the third Little Pig has enough piggy pounds to buy bricks to build his house – he listened to Mummy Pig’s advice on why saving their piggy pounds is so important!

But the wolf is lurking, and that decision might just save their bacon...

Each storytelling session lasts approximately 10 minutes and children need to be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Gold Vault Break-in (for 7 to 11 year olds)

When: 22, 23 and 24 August at 2pm

Deep beneath the Bank of England there is a vault full of gold. Impenetrable they say…no gold has ever been stolen… but does that mean that no one has ever broken in?

Join us for the tale of a gold vault break-in at the Bank of England. Could it be true, or is it a work of fiction… we’ll let you decide.

Each storytelling session lasts approximately 20 minutes and children need to be accompanied by an adult at all times.
