Rana joined the Bank in 2015 as a Research Economist in the International Directorate, before moving to the Research Hub in 2018. Prior to that she was completing her PhD at the European University Institute in Italy. Rana's research interests are primarily in theoretical aspects of macroeconomic policy and structural change. Her recent research has focused on the macroeconomic implications of demographic change, the global decline in long-run interest rates, and the role of international trade in macroeconomic models.
