Admin HistoryL A Gash (1884-1950). Born 1884. Son of T C Gash, Superintendent, Accountants' Bank Note Office. Educated Kent Coast College and Worthing College. Entered Bank 9 May 1901. Served almost entirely at Hull and Manchester Branches until 1928, when appointed Deputy Principal, Private Drawing Office. Leading part in amalgamation with Public Drawing Office, 1933. Deputy Principal, Drawing Office, 1933; Principal 1935. Deputy Chief of Establishments, 1938. Served at Whitchurch during the war, and wrote a history about it. Pensioned 15 Apr 1947. Died 18 Oct 1950 in Montevideo, Uruguay.
