Title | RYRIE / MIDDLETON / BURNS MONTHLY MEETINGS |
Date | 1980 - 1994 |
Admin History | The meetings between the Treasury and Bank teams were originally suggested by W S Ryrie, the then Second Permanent Secretary, Domestic Economy, in 1980. The purpose of the meetings was to review monetary developments. The Treasury saw the consensus at the meeting as normally being the basis for a submission to the Chancellor with the intention of indicating that the Treasury had had discussions with the Bank. Sir Peter Middleton took over the meetings. Sir Terence (Terry Burns) took over the meetings from Sir Peter. |
