Description | This book was published following the decision to demolish and rebuild the Bank and so focusses mainly on the architectural history of the various premises over its history, including an extensive series of black and white plates (photographs) of rooms, features and aspects of the Soane and Taylor designs. Also includes copies of some drawings by the architect F W Troup. This copy was presented to Mrs Violet Stubbs (nee Strain) on the occasion of her retirement from the Bank in 1939, it contains the signatures of all her friends at the Bank. |

Custodial History | This copy of the book was presented to Mrs Violet Stubbs (nee Strain) on the occasion of her retirement from the Bank in 1939. In 1972 Mrs Stubbs donated the book back to the Bank where it was held by the Museum until they handed it to the Archive in Nov 2010. |
