DescriptionThe petition explains that Thomas Jones, the Stoker, was confronted by Charles Hampden Turner (who was acquainted with the Governor) regarding his poor state of attire at the Bank. Turner implored Jones to write to Governor William Cotton to ask for some assistance on account of his work at the Bank causing wear and tear to his clothes.
